Really, you shot a 61-year old man over a cell phone? Damn, East Palo Alto, we've got to do better.
Shooting Investigation

Approx. 2330 Hours
East Palo Alto Police responded to a Shotspotter activation at 2490 Fordham Street in East Palo Alto. Responding police officers were flagged down by the 61 year old victim who directed them to the crime scene. The victim suffered a superficial gunshot injury to his leg and was transported to Stanford Hospital for treatment.
Further investigation by police revealed the suspect, Eric Layne Johnson (39) of Hayward, shot the victim because of a disagreement involving a cellular phone.
After Johnson was identified as the suspect, police located Johnson sleeping in a parked vehicle in East Palo Alto. Johnson was booked into the San Mateo County Jail for Attempted Murder.
