once again malangbaba has hipped me (do people use this term anymore?, i am so behind..ish) to uncle sam's casting of 600 arabs for a 'hollywood war'-- a simulated war game for the US military set in germany. how interesting (i guess psychological tormenting) it is that arabs are being asked to participate in the games to perfect the ritualistic deaths of other arabs, and also to be audience to these deaths in future iraqi night raids and air strikes. audience to and participant in 'war on terror' deaths? this is so reminiscent of collusion (or the appearance thereof) between slave and slave master. could the arabs who participate have ulterior motives--no not terrorism, i mean maybe somewhere hidden there is an interstitial space of resistance? infrapolitics anyone? liberating oneself financially while furthering the skills of the military to further imprison another population? malangbaba writes:

I'm not sure whether I should be pissed at the few who have signed up for this shuck-and-jive routine in order to help train and perfect the US murder machines, or concede the reality of vast racism and unemployment that most Arabs face in Europe. However, I would like to hope that my dignity (and the blood of my peoples) is worth more than any money can buy.

Surely, behind all this is somebody making loot to create the villages, to recruit, to advertise, and to pay the 'actors.'
